Colton JUSD – Bloomington High School Math & Science Center

The math and science buildings were constructed at the southeast corner of the campus, combining for 36,085 SF and are connected with a bridge at the second floor. The science building has 16 classrooms and state-of-the-art labs for chemistry and physics students. The math building has eight classrooms and three computer labs. The new Claude “Bud” Johnston Math and Science Buildings are named after Mr. Johnson who was a math teacher and coach who was among the first faculty members hired at the school when it opened in 1962. He taught there for 35 years and played a key role in developing the school’s mascot, the Bruin. Half of the funding for the new buildings comes from the 2008 voter approved Measure G bond. The state reimbursed the district for the other half.
