The Garey Building project consists of 320 residential apartments, 14,722 SF of retail space on the ground level, and subterranean parking for over 500 vehicles. This mixed-use development is composed of two, five-story apartment buildings flanking Gary Street. The street was developed into a 15,000 SF pedestrian plaza with space for retail outlets and restaurants. The complex also has 4,400 SF of recreational space and private courtyards, including a swimming pool, rooftop garden, fire pits, and a dog run.
The structure is four levels of Type V wood frame over a single concrete podium above two levels of subterranean parking. Residents have below-grade parking, a bicycle storage area, and a maintenance workshop. Units range from studios to two-bedroom apartments with an average size of 728 SF. The buildings was constructed to LEED® Certification standards.
