The existing Beaumont Library District’s historic Carnegie Library, originally built in 1914, is being renovated to meet current seismic, accessibility, and other building code requirements, and a new 13,200 SF single-story addition will be built in the existing parking lot. The project will be executed in two phases to allow for ongoing operations within the library during construction. The first phase will consist of all work south of the existing building, including the demolition of the adjacent residential structures and the construction of the new addition and the new south parking lot. The second phase will consist of the full renovation of the existing building, connections to the new addition, and construction of the new east parking lot.
