C.W. Driver Companies, a leading builder in California since 1919, celebrated a triple groundbreaking ceremony at CSU Dominguez Hills in Carson, CA. The event marked the start of three significant campus projects:

  • Student Housing & Dining Commons: A $83M, design-build, 63,000-square-foot facility will house 295 students and feature a 17,500-square-foot dining commons with 500 seats, an all-electric kitchen, and outdoor seating. The project aims for LEED® Silver certification for energy efficiency and sustainability. Expected completion is 2026.

 

  • Health, Wellness, and Recreation Center: A $67.1M, 82,000-square-foot facility designed to enhance student life with a fitness center, basketball courts, jogging track, multipurpose rooms, and a Health and Wellness Center. It will offer spaces for social interaction and health-focused activities. Expected completion is 2026.

 

  • Infrastructure Upgrade: A $28.6M essential campus upgrade, including a new SCE Switchyard, transformers, switchgear, heat pumps, and battery storage, to modernize the university’s electrical infrastructure. Expected completion is 2026.
