The mixed-use, three-story office building spans two wings of glass and concrete

offering 65,000 square feet of new commercial space

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – May 15, 2024 – C.W. Driver Companies, a leading builder serving California since 1919, today announced the completion and opening of 1650 Euclid Street in Santa Monica, a three-story office complex offering tenants 65,000 square feet of high-end commercial space.

The mixed-use project, designed by House & Robertson Architects for owners Redcar Properties, consists of a sleek building separated into two distinct wings connected with a glass-enclosed walk-through bridge structure. C.W. Driver’s work included all construction elements, including landscaping, hardscaping, a new utility infrastructure, highly specialized board-formed cast-in-place concrete, and a punched window system. The building’s modern look is a result of its two glazing systems of aluminum and steel. A pedestrian-friendly courtyard welcomes visitors at street level, and an equally social rooftop terrace with pedestal pavers adds to the exterior amenities. Below ground is a two-level 40,000 square-foot parking garage.

The upper floors at 1650 Euclid Street are intended for creative office use with interior space that provides the opportunity for multiple tenant configurations and will include rooftop and exterior decks and clerestories.

The 1650 Euclid Street development is an infill project replacing an undeveloped space that formerly housed an auto tow lot. The addition of this mixed-use office building reflects the improvements taking hold in the Memorial Park area of Santa Monica. Tenants and visitors will soon enjoy the plentiful shopping and dining in the bustling neighborhood, located a short mile from the beach and the famous Santa Monica Pier.

“Our work on 1650 Euclid is a great example of a modern and functional approach to commercial office space,” said Karl Kreutziger, President at C.W. Driver Companies. “Office tenants today are searching for more open-air, social environments with courtyards, terraces and rooftops that invite creative collaborations. This new office complex is sure to set the tone for the neighborhood.”

Recent commercial office projects by C.W. Driver Companies include Euclid Creative Office, a three-story, 36,736-square-foot mixed-use development located at Silicon Beach in Santa Monica for Friedkin Group; SchoolsFirst Credit Union RH2 Headquarters, a three-story, 180,000-square-foot office building and a one-story retail branch located in Tustin; Twenty by Six, a six-story, 90,000-square-foot creative office building for LeBeau Realty in downtown San Diego; and currently in preconstruction, a three-story, 325,000-square-foot mixed-use development located at 1000 Seaward St. in Los Angeles for Plus Development.
