This facility serves as the headquarters for the Red Cross Southern California Blood Services Region, and is centrally located on the campus of California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA. The two-story, 201,000 SF facility includes cGMP manufacturing, laboratory testing, materials and logistics management, administration, and a Donor Center for the collection of whole blood, marrow, and apheresis. Annually, the center is designed to produce between 580,000 to 800,000 whole blood units serving thousands of patients at more than 150 hospitals in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties. It is the largest blood processing facillity feeding the Western United States.
