Coast CCD – Orange Coast College, Fitness Complex/Baseball Fields/Football Stadium

Orange Coast College’s new state-of-the-art, 49,000 SF Fitness Complex is a campus icon, uniting a range of activities that were once scattered over several buildings. Designed to create a sense of connectedness between fitness studios and the football and soccer fields, extensive external glazing provides a visual connection between internal activity and exterior play fields. Within the Center, an open plan and use of transparent wall systems allow for the oversight of activities with fewer staff, and encourages socialization between users. Facilities include a large multipurpose room that can be used as a gymnasium or large group instruction facility. The complex has a training facility for sports medicine, an equipment room, a 6,000 SF Strength Lab, a 2,600 SF Cardio Lab housing 57 pieces of cardio equipment, an Exercise Science Testing Lab, and a fitness studio and classroom.
