The CSUDH Health Wellness and Recreation Center project is envisioned as a model for 21st-century student life experiences and a symbol supporting health and wellness at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Intended as an iconic destination for the campus and community, it will be inviting, inclusive and nurture student success through physical, mental, emotional, and cognitive support programs and services. The proposed two-wing building is designed with programs to bring students together – wellness, fitness, and multipurpose spaces. Social spaces may be found sprinkled on each floor, visible and accessible along active circulation spaces that highlight activities, resources, and Campus culture. Currently sized at approximately 69,400 SF, the program includes one standard-sized court, one MAC (Multi-Activity Court), an elevated jogging track, a fitness center, multipurpose rooms, and a Health and Wellness Center which includes areas for consultation, relaxation, education, and training. Outdoor programmed spaces are distributed throughout the site to offer areas for social interaction, respite, and group activities.
