The modernized Visual Arts Complex houses a constellation of specialized facilities supporting fine arts, new media, and design programs within the Department of Visual Arts. In addition to providing a diverse set of instructional and practice spaces, the complex includes galleries, study area hubs, and informal gathering spaces that activate the complex’s life and transform students’ social learning experiences.
The 110,000 SF modernization of buildings A, B, C, and D corrected functional building code, programmatic deficiencies, and extended the service life for another 50 years. All aspects of the buildings were improved and replaced. Building F was demolished to create the new 13,000 SF, two-story building, which houses technology and teaching rooms.
