Grossmont UHSD – Valhalla High School Science

In order to provide teachers and students with an environment suitable for a superior science education, this new two-story science building provides 12 state-of-the-art laboratory classrooms. Each floor contains six classrooms designed to function as both lab space and lecture rooms. Full audio-visual systems, daylighting and natural ventilation enhance the learning environment. Chemistry labs all feature fume hoods and gas lines. Biology and natural science rooms have sinks and counter space. In the center of each level is a teacher space with offices and an area to prepare assignments, materials or labs. There are also new girls and boys bathrooms with automatic toilets and sinks to reduce water consumption. Planters, trees, grass and a large concrete patio area are all part of the landscape design to promote collegial discourse and encourage students to focus more on the sciences.
