Irvine USD – University High School Athletic Facility

University High School’s new athletic facility includes bleachers, field lighting, public address system, concession stands, restrooms, ticket-sales windows and a scoreboard. The existing track and field were replaced with a new nine-lane synthetic track and artificial-turf field. Security fencing, landscaping, walkways, access gates and other minor associated improvements were included in the project. Located on an active campus with very limited access, the C.W. Driver team constructed a temporary access road into the campus for material deliveries. Delayed for years by concerned local residents, the project was under a high level of oversight and the construction team made communication a priority. One side of the project backed up to a wildlife reserve; therefore, sound walls were erected to avoid disturbing local wildlife during construction.
