Kaiser Permanente is the nation’s largest nonprofit health plan serving more than 8.2 million members. In order to meet the projected increase in provider offices and exam rooms, Kaiser Permanente negotiated the sublease of a 15,509 SF, stand-alone building originally constructed in 2006 in September 2011. The C.W. Driver team has transformed this former retail store into 14,367 SF of medical facilities, leaving 1,142 SF shelled space for future expansion. The project incorporates eight provider offices, 16 exam rooms, minor procedure room, small pharmacy, general radiology unit, blood draw station and corresponding public and staff support areas. Installation of additional MEP systems was necessary to comply with the increased functional requirements of a medical office building vs. a retail store.
